Servo Hardware

This page is intended to eventually link to information on servo hardware that is known to be compatible with OpenServo. For now the links below are pages with photographs of the servo PCBs for reference purposes.

People have been opening up and modifying servos long before the first Openservo was ever built. One popular modification is removing the mechanical stop -- that converts the servo into a "continous rotation" servo that can be used in applications like robot wheels that need to turn around and around and around indefinitely. The ConstructionTutorial MG995 open-encoder briefly mentions that modification, and the Seattle Robotics "How to modify a servo" article goes into more detail.
