Hi everyone,
is it possible to calculate the mechanical force while moving the motor or while trying to hold a position?
Or is it already implemented?!
Thanks, Steene |

Steen,
There are no force calculations built into the software. BUT there is current sensing. AFAIK the current drain should be proportional to the force required to turn the servo. I have done no tests to verify this, because that would require some sort of force sensor (or a jimmy-rigged fish scale?) neither of which are on my electronics benchtop.
The possiblilty to infer applied force from the current drain are what brought me to the OpenServo in the first place. I challenge you to buy some OpenServos from RobotFuzz and do some simple experiments for all of us to analyze.
